On March 26, 2026, CICL hosted the David J. Bederman Symposium on Access to Global Justice in Tull Auditorium. The Symposium brought together judges, scholars, practitioners and policymakers from four continents and 14 countries.

Keynote addresses were delivered by Laila Medina, Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, and Judge Lee Rosenthal of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Panels took a comparative look at collective litigation, alternative dispute resolution, litigation funding, the digitalization of courts and the emerging role of artificial intelligence.

The Symposium was supported by the David J. Bederman Fund and sponsored by the American Society of Comparative Law.
